Finding the Right Activities for Your Child's Age

One of the most common questions parents ask is what right brain activities are appropriate for their child's age. It is a great question because the brain develops in stages, and what works for a two-year-old will not be the same as what works for a five-year-old. Understanding these stages helps you choose activities that are challenging enough to promote growth but not so difficult that they frustrate your child.

When my daughter was two, I made the mistake of trying flash card activities meant for four-year-olds. She just stared at me with those big eyes, clearly confused. I quickly learned that matching activities to developmental stages is not just important, it is essential.

Birth to 12 Months: The Foundation Stage

Babies are already learning at an incredible pace. Their right brains are absorbing everything around them. The best activities for this age are simple sensory experiences.
